Winner: Seminole Brave $5.50
Comments: A tough on pace win by Seminole Brave gave us a nice result to round out the month, it was a day where hindsight regarding weather conditions would have seen us play things very differently. I decided to err on the side of caution which ended up paying off.
Selection Review
Sichern $2.70 (UNP) – he did not show the late dash he did on debut but when I see that he was asked to travel around 16L quicker to the 400m, it was understandable that he was 9L slower over the last 400m and unable to do any better.
Beaufort Park $10.60 (UNP) – he just did not have his head in the game (literally, it was sideways for most of the straight) for this race so I am quite unsure what to make of it. On speed figures, he was around 2L slower than when he resumed but 4L faster than last start. I suspect he has found his level and may not improve on that.
Seminole Brave $5.50 (1st for an 11u return) – jumped well and pushed along to sit outside the leader, he was strong in the straight and fought hard for a tough win. The inside lanes were slightly inferior in the final 200m so the run had further merit.
Summary
A quiet day but a nice result to round out a good yet quiet start to 2021.
