Race 1: Coopers Handicap 1208m

Go the Journey (1st) led at a strong tempo, kicked on straightening, and has just held on late, can win again. Strategic Demand (2nd) had a nice run towards the rear on the rails, ran on strongly late to just miss. Counter Pulse (3rd) sat on speed and battled on well.

 

Race 2: Kingsford Hotel 3YO Maiden Plate 1108m

Scarecrow (1st) sat outside the leader and has powered away on straightening, showed a great turn of foot, much too good. Institution (2nd) settled midfield, battled on well in the straight but no match the winner. Bajan (3rd) settled towards the rear and ran on well late.

 

Race 3: Goldin Farms Handicap 1508m

Modulate (1st) had a lovely run just in behind the speed, travelled up to them under a hold and let down well enough to put them away. El Desperado (2nd) sat outside the leader and kept fighting on strongly in the straight. Pearl Raider (3rd) settled towards the rear and ran on well late.

 

Race 4: Terrace Function Centre Handicap 1712m

Cobber (1st) had a nice run midfield, worked into the race nicely and fought on strongly late. Dances on Stars (2nd) settled towards the rear and was caught three wide with no cover, ran on well late to just miss. Braidley (3rd) settled last and ran on well late.

 

Race 5: Ausbia Electrical Handicap 1108m

Mysticano (1st) settled a touch worse than midfield, travelled into the race strongly around the turn, let down well and was too strong late. Vicki’s Boy (2nd) settled towards the rear and ran on strongly late. Good Luck Chuck (3rd) settled on the speed and fought on well in the straight.

 

Race 6: Holdfast Insurance Handicap 2112m

Soaring High (1st) settled a touch worse than midfield, travelled into the race strongly and proved too strong late. Exalted Lightning (2nd) sat outside the leading, kept finding in the straight with the winner just proving too strong late. They cleared out from the rest.

 

Race 7: Barossa Valley Schild Estate Wines Handicap 1508m

Hazy Lane (1st) sat outside the leader, took over on straightening and kept finding to just hold on, tough win. Folk Tales (2nd) box seated, peeled out in the straight, ran on well to just miss, had every chance. Flow Meter (3rd) settled towards the rear on the rails, got rails runs in the straight, ran on well but had every chance.

 

Race 8: Gawler South Bakery Handicap 1208m

Miss Cuoco (1st) settled at the rear, travelled into the race nicely and let down strongly late to win, loves it at Gawler. Alaskan Jade (2nd) was well backed and caught three wide on the speed, kept finding in the straight. Cool Maverick (3rd) led and battled on well enough in the straight.
