Race 1: Queen Adelaide Stakes 1050m

We start the day with a race for the 2YO’s over the sprint journey. Absolute Flirt currently heads the market at $3.20. Hearty Lass can lead, Balaabel showed good speed in her trials.

Blake Says: Absolute Flirt was a strong winner last start, finds a winnable race here, stable flying and should be able to get a nice run just off the speed. The one to beat.

Lachlan Says: Not much interest here with a bunch of babies racing on a potential soft/heavy track. None of them have exposed form on the going so will just watch and learn.

Race 2: Open Handicap 1600m

Race over the mile and A Shin Rook is the current short priced favourite at $2.10. Al Passem should find the front here with ease.

Blake Says: A Shin Rook was a class above them last start. Finds another winnable race here but map could be tricky in the small field where there looks little tempo. Hussybay is on the back up after winning last week, the rise in distance is no issue, blinkers go back on, maps well, can win again.

Lachlan Says: A SHIN ROOK was a dominant winner last start and looked the best on the card that day. I'm prepared to risk the horse today as it has no soft/heavy form. This brings me back to BALF'S CHOICE. War horse now that has won 7 from 12 on soft tracks. Is racing near his best again and gets Willy Pike.

Race 3: D C McKay Stakes 1100m

Good little race over the 1100m here and Victorian visitor Haunted is the current $2.45 favourite. Petrelle and Working From Home look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Tough race. Despatch has impressed me in both of his wins this prep, map looks a slight concern but if he can find a position on speed without working too much, he should give them something to catch. No betting interest.

Lachlan Says: Not really interested in getting involved in this one. Lots of winners and honest performers amongst the bunch. Your guess is as good as mine.

Race 4: BM 90 Handicap 2000m

We race over the 2000m here with Thunder Cloud the current $2.40 favourite. All Too Huiying and Silent Warrior look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Not a race I’m keen to get involved in. Handsome Return was a solid effort last start, gets a positive jockey change and maps well here. Top pick but no interest in the current price on offer.

Lachlan Says: Thought MISS FIVE HUNDRED was a sneaky chance in the Oaks but unlikely to gain a start. Takes on older horses here in a BM90 but should measure up considering the connections thought she was good enough for a G1 tilt. The wheels spun and took forever to wind up last start. Ran 11th but closing sectionals was good. Happy to be on at a price.

Race 5: Queen of the South Stakes 1600m

We race over the mile here and Spanish Reef is the current $2.90 favourite. Spanish Reef, Blue Morpho and Truly Discreet should all be looking to be positive early.

Blake Says: Tough race with a lot of interstate form. Have Music Bay narrowly on top who maps to get a lovely run just off the speed but not a race I’m keen to get involved in.

Lachlan Says: Going to play a couple of rough chances here. BRING ME ROSES did enough late last weekend and the step up to a mile suits. Hard to leave out a horse that ran 1.3L to SHILLELAGH just a handful of starts ago. Is a big stage performer. FLOP had zero luck on Anzac Day over at Flemington and she is racing very well this prep. The forecasted wet track will suit her.

Race 6: Schweppes Oaks 2000m

Group 1 Oaks over the 2000m and Princess Jenni currently heads the market at $4.20. Amangiri clearly has the speed to lead them up here if they want too.

Blake Says: Wide open race and not one I’m keen to get involved in. With a positive ride Amangiri looks the one to beat but doesn’t look any value in the price.

Lachlan Says: PRINCESS JENNI just keeps winning and will obviously be hard to beat again. Olly a key booking. Will be cheering on DREAMED for the Balfour stable. Held up badly last start but really found the line hard for 2nd. Looks like the extra furlong will suit her. Nice price to find out.

Race 7: TAB Classic 1200m

Group 1 TAB Classic over the sprint journey and Spright is the current $4.60 favourite in what is an open market. Lady Cosmology can work across to lead here with Bella Martini and Cool Passion handy.

Blake Says: Spright the class runner but just has a horrible racing pattern, will go well back here from the barrier and the current price looks a touch short. Cool Passion drops back to the more suitable 1200m here, trialled nicely. Can settle up towards the speed here and give them something to catch.

Lachlan Says: Excellent race and very even. SPRIGHT looks the one on paper but has a query on the wet tracks and simply just doesn't get the job done. I thought there was some decent rough chances in this worth nibbling. EVERYDAY LADY was luckless at Oakbank and is racing very well. I'LL HAVE A BIT can blow them away on best form and DIVINE QUALITY can be added to that category.

Race 8: TAB Euclase Stakes 1200m

Good race to end the day over the 1200m with the talented Terbium currently heading the market at $3.70. Viduka and Valour Road look the main speed engaged.

Blake Says: Tough way to end the day. Behemoth was good first up, should take natural improvement from the run and gets a positive jockey change. Map is the concern, will likely settle well back from barrier and need luck in running. Top pick but no betting interest.

Lachlan Says: I have GYTRASH backing up from his good win on Saturday and this has been a bit of a target race for us. He's a good each-way chance and the rain around should work in his favour. Outside of that I’m pretty keen on BEHEMOTH. I believe he's pretty un-tapped and is a genuine Goodwood Hcp horse. He's a big horse that will be suited by the outside draw. He will be having the last crack at them.
