The Hong Kong International Race Day is one of the most anticipated events in thoroughbred racing. Known as the Turf World Championships, the event initially started as the Hong Kong Invitation Cup. The Hong Kong International Race Day started in 1989 and was only restricted to horses from Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
